Rudraksha seed is produced by several species of evergreen trees. In India, they are used as beads for spiritual worship. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva went into deep meditation for the well-being of all sentient beings. Upon completion, he felt a deep and strong emotion and shed a tear of compassion. That tear crystallized into the form of a rudraksha seed as it landed onto the earth.
